While scientists have focused on figuring out and understanding turbulence through art, it turns out a famous artist in history already figured it out over 100 years ago. His name? Vincent Van Gogh.

Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” is one of the most iconic painting of all time. When scientists took a much closer look and analyzed it, they discovered that Van Gogh had completely nailed the concept of “turbulence” in his painting without any formal education or training on the subject.
