Pub quizzes are a British institution, but Quiz Room is rewriting the rules. Billed as the UK’s first immersive trivia-style game room, it brings the energy of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, The Chase and Pointless into a real, full-scale TV studio set — buzzers, dramatic lighting, voiceovers and all. Forget shouting answers across a sticky pub table: at Quiz Room, you actually become the contestant.
How it works
Each session runs for about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, with groups of 4 to 90 players thanks to five large rooms that can host tournaments side by side. After booking online and creating a player profile, you’re welcomed by a Quiz Master who sets the scene before the lights drop.
Players step behind individual podiums fitted with four answer buzzers (A, B, C, D). Questions appear on a giant screen — pop culture, music, sport, geography, telly trivia, song lyrics, celebrity baby photos, forgotten British monarchs — and the goal is simple: hit your buzzer faster than your mates.
But here’s the twist: it’s not just about what you know, it’s how you play the game. Jokers, traps, point-stealing tactics and bluffing turn even the least quizzy member of the group into a contender. Anyone can win, which is exactly why the format works so well for mixed groups.
Multiple game formats to choose from
- The O.G. (Original Quiz) — the flagship pop culture format
- The Music Quiz — buzz when you recognise the song
- The Mole — an impostor-hunting twist where one player secretly has all the answers
- The Clash of Knowledge — 80 questions, no jokers, no traps, pure brainpower
- Quiz Room Kids — adapted for ages 8 to 12
- Seasonal specials — football quiz, Halloween editions and Christmas quizzes
You can even personalise up to 10 questions out of 60 — perfect for stag dos, hen parties and milestone birthdays where inside jokes about the guest of honour are mandatory.
