After 40 Years Behind Closed Doors, They Finally Get A Peek Inside This Vintage Family Shoe Store

It’s disheartening to hear stories of old buildings being demolished and pieces of history thrown out every so often. So whenever new discoveries of untouched history hit the news, we can’t help but feel elated, and quite frankly, curious.

Such was the case when Redditor oktober75 and his family stumbled upon an old shoe store in the building owned by his great grandparents. The First Class Shoe Store has been closed for over 40 years. When they finally checked it out, this is what they found:

The family shoe store was open from the 40’s through the 60’s. It was run by his great grandmother until she passed away over 40 years ago.

Inside were rows upon rows of shoes stashed neatly inside their boxes. Some were left displayed on the shelves.

While some are still in great condition, many of the pairs can never be actually worn. The heat and dry hair caused the rubber and plastic on these shoes to deteriorate and become stiff.
